leave it better than you found it

leave it better than you found it

I was born on the Winter Solstice—the shortest day and longest night of the year.

I used to wonder what it meant about me to have been born on such a cold, dark day. But a friend helped me reframe it:

Every day after the longest night sees more daylight than before. The darkest date is an inflection point—things only get lighter from there.

I’m reminded of an adage a coach imparted on us throughout high school.

Leave it better than you found it,” he’d tell us as we picked up trash from the opposing team’s bleachers.

So this is our charge. To leave it better than we found it.

To live life as such each day is filled with a little more light than the last.

At Comma, we are working to create a world where menstruators have quality, secure, & actionable data about their bodies, as well as the means to do something with this data. We believe everyone should have access to reproductive health products & services they like & can afford.
